2. The Data We Collect
We collect the following personal data to provide and improve our service:
- Account & Identity Data: Email address, chosen username, and profile picture (processed via Firebase Authentication).
- User-Generated Content: Quizzes, topics, and in-app 1-on-1 or lobby chat messages.
- Technical & Analytics Data: Device identifiers, IP addresses, crash logs, and app usage data (processed via Firebase Analytics, Unity Analytics, and RevenueCat).
- Advertising Data: Device advertising identifiers (e.g., Apple IDFA or Google AAID) for personalized advertising (processed via Google AdMob).
3. Lawful Basis for Processing
Under the UK GDPR, our lawful bases for processing your data are:
- Contractual Necessity: Providing core app functionality, account creation, and delivering the "QuizNow Supporter" premium service.
- Consent: Serving personalized advertising and processing specific device identifiers. You may withdraw consent at any time via the in-app settings or your device's tracking preferences.
- Legitimate Interests: Moderating user-generated content, maintaining security, and improving app performance through anonymized analytics.
4. Third-Party Data Processors
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with the following trusted third-party service providers to operate the app:
- Google (Firebase & AdMob): For authentication, backend database hosting, analytics, and advertising.
- Unity Technologies: For matchmaking and gaming services.
- RevenueCat: For processing in-app subscription entitlements.
- Apple & Google: For processing payments (we do not store or process your financial data).
5. Data Retention and Deletion
We retain your data only for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with the services. You have the right to request the deletion of your personal data.
- In-App Deletion: You can delete your account and all associated personal data instantly by navigating to Settings > Delete Account within the app.
- Manual Request: You may also request deletion by contacting support@quiznow.app.
6. Children's Privacy
QuizNow is strictly for users aged 16 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 16. If we become aware that we have collected data from a minor, we will delete it immediately.
7. Data Protection Complaints & Your Rights
Under UK data protection law, you have the right to access, rectify, or erase your data. If you have a complaint regarding how we handle your data, please contact us first at support@quiznow.app.
We will formally acknowledge your complaint within 30 days and investigate it without undue delay. If you are dissatisfied with our response, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
